Set along a quiet lane in the heart of Kerobokan, surrounded by lush rice terraces and just a short drive from the restaurants, beach clubs and boutiques of Seminyak and Canggu, Alea Estate is a wonderful nine bedroom property that combines two neighbouring villas, Villa Alea and Villa Aloui, into one sprawling tropical estate. The striking traditional Javanese Joglo architecture, with its distinctive timber rooflines and beautifully crafted wooden pavilions, gives the estate a real sense of character and heritage that sets it apart from the usual villa offering.

Spread across both villas, the nine bedrooms are well appointed and comfortable, each air-conditioned with their own private en-suite bathroom. Villa Alea’s five bedrooms are spread across two levels, with the master suite sitting in its own private pavilion overlooking the pool and rice fields, featuring a king bed, flat screen TV and an outdoor stone bathtub. The four bedrooms in Villa Aloui are equally comfortable, with a mix of king, queen and twin configurations that works well for groups of varied ages. The estate can also be configured as seven, eight or nine bedrooms depending on group size, with unused rooms simply closed off while guests retain exclusive use of the full property.

Each villa has its own generous open-air living and dining space, both designed to capture the tropical breeze and garden views. Fully equipped kitchens in each villa make self-catering easy, with a private chef available on request for those who prefer to leave the cooking to someone else. Two private swimming pools sit within the lush tropical gardens, each with sun loungers, shaded spots and plenty of lawn space for children to run around or for groups to spread out and enjoy the Bali sunshine. The grounds are also well suited to private events, celebrations and small weddings, with the garden area by the rice fields providing a beautiful natural backdrop.
